| Welcome to the Ontario Coalition of Aboriginal People (OCAP). We are an advocacy organization in Ontario that represents the rights and interests of off-reserve Aboriginal peoples (Métis, Status and non-Status Indians) living in urban, rural and remote areas throughout the province. OCAP is an incorporated, not-for-profit, and membership based coalition of Aboriginal peoples in Ontario. We are an affiliate member of the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples (CAP) and we ensure that the views and interests of our Ontario constituency are recognized and heard at CAP Board of Directors meetings, caucuses and assemblies. |  |

Goals of OCAP
- The primary goal of OCAP is to create and implement a plan to re-start many of the programs denied our people in Ontario, with an emphasis on saving the trained competent employees who have spent years creating a service delivery capacity specifically to the Métis, Non Status, and stand alone Aboriginal persons in Ontario.
- The secondary goal is to create and manage a consultation process to inform our diverse community across Ontario about what is occurring and how to access programs and services while gaining feedback on issues, and barriers.
- The long-term goal would be to ensure a Political voice is present at the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples forums and with Provincial and Federal governance bodies on present issues and programs developing for this broad constituency. This goal also includes organizing the Aboriginal communities in Ontario.
