Q: Is OCAP associated with the Ontario Metis Aboriginal Association(OMAA)?
A: No. OCAP is not in any way associated with OMAA.
Q: Did you take over OMAA?
A: No. We are a totally different group.
Q: I have an OMAA card. Will my OMAA card be automatically replaced with an OCAP card?
A: No. You will have to complete an OCAP membership form and send it in with your documentation.
Q: Can I use my OMAA membership card as verification?
A: No. You must fill out our application & provided documentation.
Q: Is OCAP recognized by both levels of Government?
A: Yes, because we are the Ontario affiliate of the CAP, we are recognized both provincially and federally.
Q: Is OCAP the only organization recognized by both levels of Government in Ontario?
A: No. The Metis Nation of Ontario(MNO) also holds the same status.
Q: Does OCAP request that my ancestry come from the Red River Settlement?
A: No.
